Pigtails

One of a mother's dream of having a little girl is the fun we'll have is fixing the little girls hair with pretty bows and cute hair-dos. Miriam is going on two and I am just starting to revel in the joy of fixing her hair. It is still really thin and I had to continuously put her hair back in the pigtails several times today, but I have waited so long it is worth it!

Sleepy Head

Tobie keeps sneaking out of his room after we have put him to bed and sometimes hides so he can watch t.v. without us knowing. We usually catch him when he pokes his head up to watch the show, but this night he didn't make it that far.

Mother's Day

That's San Francisco over Theo's left shoulder.
Tobie pretending to fly out over the Pacific.
San Francisco is over the the left.
On Mother's Day I usually feel it is the day for me to relax and take a nice long nap after church without the guilt. But this year I kept feeling that it just wouldn't be Mother's Day if I wasn't spending time with my family. So we went up to the top of Mt. Tamalpais and had a little bit of a hike. I didn't realize how amazing the view was from up there. We have been here for almost 2 years and haven't seen half of the places we said we would, but after yesterday it sure was motivational to go out there and have more adventures!

Miss Smiley

Imagine sitting on the couch, enthralled by some program on t.v. All of a sudden you feel someone staring at you. You turn to your left and this is looking right at you! How could you not melt!

Spiders vs. Roaches

The spiders here seem to be everywhere, no matter how many times I wipe them away there is always one in another corner. But at least there aren't any roaches and that makes the spiders almost bareable.

Bunco Night

I have been lucky enough to be adopted by these wonderful ladies who are in a different ward to come and play Bunco once a month. It was just by chance that I became associated with them. I work in the childwatch area at the YMCA and Lainie, the lady in the striped shirt on the floor, came in pregnant with twins! She would bring her other two daughters in and each time she came I would think, "She is so nice and always so cheerful, she would make a great mormon!" I kept that thought in the back of my mind trying to think of ways to incorporate it into our conversation. Then one day her youngest daughter, Elyse, mentioned that they were going to Utah for vacation. I thought, what are the odds that she isn't a member and has relatives in Utah and has the mormon mannerisms? Turns out that she was and there was a whole slew of them coming into the Y and I had no idea. They totally embraced me and included me into their get togethers. The fun I have had with these women has encouraged me to start groups with the ladies of my own ward and even start this blog. So I say "Thank you!" to all you ladies for opening your doors to me and making me feel like one of the group!
