Slade Park

Once a year our ward comes to this park to clean it up as a service project to the community. It wasn't as bad as it was last year, so hopefully our efforts are really making a long term difference.
Me working hard.
The kids had the most fun!
They had a little Primary activity. Here Tobie is giving it all his might at tug-o-war.
His team didn't quite win this one, but they did win another round, so he wasn't too disappointed.

Little Head

Emma had her 6 month check up Monday. She is doing great, strong and healthy. I was a little surprised to find out her percentages though. I can't remember the exact number of inches she was, but she is in the 75th percentile on hieght! I don't know where the hieght comes from, Theo is about average at 5'10 and I'm pretty short at 5'2. She is 15lbs 5oz which puts her in the 50th percentile. The real shocker was to find out she is in the 25th percentile in head circumference! She does have a petite head. Now Theo is calling her Little Head. I guess if we were still back in the Indian days maybe that would be her tribal name. I would rather her have a small head than a huge one anyday!

Guess what...I love you!

"Guess what...I love you!" is a game that I started doing when I was dating Theo. It was so fun to catch him off guard with a "guess what!" and after he would say "what?" I would say, "I love you!". It was especially funny when I really did have something to tell him and he would answer "you love me" after my "guess what?". I would say, "yeah, but that's not what I was going to say." I started to do this with Tobie when he was just a little baby and I continue it with Miriam. Tobie loves catching me off guard, especially if I am in a bad mood. Hearing him say "guess what, mommy" and then following up with a sweet "I love you" really melts my heart when I need it most. Miriam has just caught on to the game. Yesterday at work I looked at her and said "guess what", she shocked me by saying, "I yuh ooh, ma-ma". There is nothing sweeter than to hear your own child profess that they love you. Words can't sum up how much I love my children, and to hear them say they love me also is such a sweet blessing that I try to enjoy a much as I can everyday.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to everyone!!
Admiring the jellybeans.

Little Swimmer

Tobie loves his swim lessons. He has one every week, and he is never in the mood not to go. I had him swimming when he was under 2, but when we moved here we didn't have access to a pool as often as we did when we lived in Jacksonville and he lost a lot of it. He still has the love for it and is really doing great!
Learning to tread water with his swim instructor, Janice. She is very patient with him especially since he is more interested in doing cannonballs, than focusing on his technique.
